James C. Ginn, 70, of Rt. 1 Fortville, Ind., died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Culver Hospital after an extended illness. Recently Mr. Ginn had been living with his daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Cowan on Rt. 4. He had lived near Fortville for 45 years. He retired from farming 10 years ago. He was a member of the Fortville Christian Church, Masonic Lodge 207 and the Fortville Chapter OES 149, where he was a past patron. A native of Boone County, he was born Sept. 15, 1896, a son of Gabriel and Maggie Ginn. He was married Nov. 17, 1917, in Montgomery County to Marcella Freeman. Surviving are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Hochstedler of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Claudia Kellermeyer of Rt. 1 Fortville and Mrs. Cowan; three sisters, Mrs. Carmon Snow of Eaton Park, Fla., Mrs. Mabel Roberts of Anderson and Mrs. Katie Boyd of Rt. 2 Lebanon; two brothers, Gabriel (Gabie) of Anderson and Charles of Lizton; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the Cory-Seals Funeral Home at Fortville where services time will be announced later. Burial will be in Gravel Lawn Cemetery at Fortville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. – jlr
